Wishing I was in Maui, but dealing with being here

Whew…..

busy last few days. Enjoyed dinner with wonderful friends Debbie and Ken Cummins on Thursday night up in Danville. They are up visiting family and this was the only day we could hook up. Friday Kathleen, Bill, Byron and I went to the deYoung Museum to see part two of the Impressionist exhibit from the d’Orsey Museum in Paris. Lunch was a Q in the Richmond District on Clement in SF. Saturday was the “Shop Hop” with Carrie, Pat, Shari, Martha and Olga. We went to 3 shops and had lunch. Long day.

Today I’m taking it easy. Going to spend the day cleaning (or at least 52 pick up), laundry, knitting and GIANTS BASEBALL. The Giants are up 2-1 in the series but are in Texas now and it’s kinda rough. Hope they win tonight.

Busy…..

week coming up. Didn’t go to SF with KW yesterday as she wasn’t feeling well. Wednesday is Knit Klun in MH, Thursday I work and then we’re going to meet Ken and Debbie in Danville. Friday I’m going with KW, Bill and Byron to the deYoung to see the Impressionist paints. Saturday is our mini LYS shop hop up in Dublin. Sunday is 5th Sunday at WV Pres.

I’m in a…………

knitting funk! Haven’t accomplished much since last week. I have cast on and frogged the Foreign Correspondent Scarf at least four times!! I’m not getting anywhere on the Traveling Woman Scarf and watching baseball doesn’t help with knitting!

The Giants had a chance to clinch the National League Pennant last night but lost it in the third inning when Lincecum had a bad day on the mound. Tomorrow in Philly. Looks like the winner will play Texas. The Yankees are down to their last 3 outs and are trailing 6-1.

Met Anne for coffee today and then over to GPY. Bought Yarn for the Burberry Inspired Cowl. After Anne left Denise came in and I sat and knit with her for about and hour until I realized I had screwed the FC Scarf .  Just finished the first repeat of the cowl and seems to be going well. The yarn looked better in the skein before I started to knit it but think it will work out ok. It’s green and I don’t know why I bought green! I don’t especially like green. Maybe I’ll give it away for Christmas. Edited to add picture of cowl. It turned out very nice and the yarn is very soft.

Sunday I’m going to try going to Foothill Presbyterian church that is closer than Immanuel. I think they are a more traditional church than IPC. Next month I’ll try First Presbyterian Church downtown on 4th Street.

Sunday I’m going to SF with KW to meet the mother of one of her FB friends. Hope it’s not raining!

Friday….

again! Can’t believe a week has gone by. Not much accomplished. Last weekend I casted on Traveling Woman Shawl. When a pattern has 358 comments (good and some confused) on Ravelry I wonder if I should be making this. It had me so paranoid I couldn’t knit past the set up rows (all 50 0f them) for 3 days! Last night I threw caution to the wind and started knitting. After 4 rows had to stop as it was very stressful knitting 159 stitches and hoping it would work out at the end!

Today it’s the dentist at 10am and then a visit to Bobbins Nest to spend my Groupon Coupon. I plan to get yarn for the Foreign Correspondents Scarf. Then a stop at the Apple Store to discuss if I should bring my Mac in for a tune-up. Going to also check out an ipod and see which one I should get. Then a trip over to the Fair Trade Faire in Willow Glen. Whew, I’m tired already.

Good day…….

Got my hair cut, met Anne for coffee and chit chat, went back to hair place to pick up credit card (not part of the good day) and then down to So SJ to see Carrie and pick up knitting needles.

Also, noticed that chruch meeting isn’t til next Saturday so I have the day free!! Going to start on new shawl, Traveling Woman.

Giants won game 1 of the playoff and play again tonight. Go Giants!!!

Not much….

happening. I’ve been knitting on my Saroyan  Shawlette for the Bones KAL. I think I’m going to try The Traveling Woman shawl by the same designer next. My hours have been cut at SLT so I have more time.

Did go to Carol’s retirement party Saturday. She retired from Morgan Hill School District Transportation Department. For most of her career she was a bus driver. The theme of the part was around the school bus. I’ll post pictures later. She was totally surprised.

Sad news, our Brother in Christ, Dick Wolf passed away suddenly  last Friday. I’ll go to his visitation on Wednesday night as I have to work Thursday and will miss the funeral.

Meeting my friend Ann on Friday for coffee after I get my hair cut. We chit chat and knit for a bit. She just moved back to the SoBay from SF a couple of months ago and this is the first time we’ve hooked up.

Saturday is the church meeting to discuss the Mission Study report. I am anxious to see how many people come and what is discussed.
