We (DH and I) had a great Saturday. We attended Lambtown in Dixon, CA which is about 1 hour 45 minutes away from here. I had seen it mentioned on the Bay Area Forum on Ravelry about a month ago and we made plans to attend (plan:put the info on the calendar).
Lots of fun stuff to see, Retail, Artist, Sheep to Shawl Competition, sheep shearing, Alpaca judging and showing, Knit to break the Guinness World Record for most people in one place knitting for 15 minutes (we needed 1200 and had about 250), lamb cooking demonstration, petting zoo and all kinds of music.
Sheep to Shawl was an all day competition between 3 or 4 groups who carded the wool, spun the wool and then wove it info a scarf of specific width and length. They were judging when we left and I don’t know who won. All of the pieces were beautiful.
Authors Rachael Herron and Lisa Bogart were both there signing their new books. I’ve read all 3 of Rachaels’ previously published books and purchased her new book and bought Lisa’s new book. Hope those last me a few weeks!
